Extensions (once in Brazil only): up to a further 90 days, making up a maximum of six months in any twelve-month period. At least two weeks before expiration of the first granted period, tourists may apply for a single extension of an additional 90 days, granted at the discretion of the Brazilian Immigration Authority.

Emergency Technical Assistance Visa is issued, under exceptional circumstances, to foreign citizens travelling to Brazil to provide emergency technical assistance in cases where an unexpected situation has arisen, which puts human lives or the environment at immediate risk or which interrupts production.

NOTE: When applied in person it takes minimum of 7 working days to process it. When applied by a third party – between 7 to 15 working days.

The Consulate General does not provide express visa services. One should not commit to travel plans until he/she know when the visa will be issued. General conditions are subject to change without prior notice.
